Psychologists study the fundamental concepts of the human brain: behavior and the mind. We draw from many different branches of science in order to study these concepts. We might use techniques from anthropology or sociology to study groups, but might look to biology, chemistry, or computer science when studying individuals.

By combining these approaches, psychologists are able to study the same question from multiple angles. By letting each one inform the other, we gain insights not possible through theory alone.
