Kyle Olesevich Scholarship for Sociology, Social Work and Anthropology Majors
This $500 annual award can be applied towards the cost of tuition or study abroad fees.
Award recipients must have declared a major in anthropology, criminology, social work or sociology (rising juniors and seniors) with preference given to students with demonstrated financial need. The student cannot already receive funding through the President's Leadership Program. Students must submit a one-page (300-500 words) essay outlining how the support of this tuition scholarship might meaningfully help them achieve their academic goals. For example, this tuition award might support the cost of study abroad that a student would otherwise not have been able to do, or provide an opportunity to pay for additional credit hours so the student can graduate on time or early. It could also be that by defraying the cost of tuition that the student may now be able to purchase books, engage in a research project, travel to complete a worthwhile internship or volunteer experience, or even work fewer hours in their job so they can focus more on academics.
