How will I know I have properly registered for a President’s Leadership & Honors Visit Day?
You will receive a confirmation email upon registering for the event and a final confirmation with additional details several days before the event. Be sure to check your email account for this important message that will include links to information about your visit to Christopher Newport University.

What time do I need to arrive for President’s Leadership & Honors Visit Day?
Please arrive between 8 and 9 a.m.

What is the attire for the event?
Proper dress for the event and your interview is business attire. Casual clothing is appropriate for the overnight portion of your visit.

Where do I park?
Arrive on campus via Avenue of the Arts (J. Clyde Morris Blvd) and follow the directional signs for parking. You will not be ticketed unless you park in a handicapped space without proper identification or park in a fire lane, etc. There will be signs directing you to parking once you arrive on campus.

What time is my interview?
Interviews will be scheduled at check-in. Please note that students arriving late may miss the opportunity to interview for the President’s Leadership and/or Honors Programs.

How do I prepare for the interview?
All you need to do to prepare is practice being yourself! You will be interviewed by a current leadership/honors student or recent graduate, and will also have the chance to ask them any questions you might have about the program.

Am I required to stay for the entire program?
No. If your schedule requires you to leave after President Trible’s Thoughts on Leadership then you may do so. We simply ask that you inform us if you will not be attending the additional programs.

If I cannot attend this event, will this hinder my chances of admission into the President’s Leadership Program?
No. If you cannot attend a President’s Leadership & Honors Visit Day your chances of admission into the program will not be affected. You may still apply to the President’s Leadership Program, and if eligible, may be contacted for an on-campus or webcam interview.

Can I receive merit-based scholarships for both the President’s Leadership and Honors Programs?
No. If admitted to both the President’s Leadership Program and Honors Program you only qualify for one merit-based scholarship; however, you may participate in both programs.
