Graduate Admission

Christopher Newport offers three graduate programs:

  • Applied physics and computer science
  • Environmental science
  • Teaching (with initial licensure)

Our master’s degree programs offer challenging courses in a nurturing environment with strong faculty mentorship. You’ll have opportunities to participate in recognized research projects, as well as to engage in research of your own.

Non-CNU Students

If you are in your senior year or have earned a bachelor’s degree at a regionally accredited university or college with a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, apply to our traditional master's programs.

Current Christopher Newport Students

If you are junior (65 credit hours complete) at CNU, apply to a bachelor’s to master’s five-year program. These programs allow qualifying CNU undergraduates to begin taking graduate-level classes in their senior year, complete their bachelor’s degree at CNU and stay to earn a master’s degree with one additional year. You must follow the recommended curriculum and take courses in the summer after completing your bachelor’s degree.

International Applicants

If you are an international applicant (not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident) applying for a master’s degree, please submit the required information and the application by the deadlines listed for our traditional programs.
