International Freshman - Admission Requirements
If you are an international student (not a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) applying as a first-time undergraduate student, please submit the following pieces of information to the Office of Admission by February 1st for the fall semester, or October 1st for the spring semester.
- Completed application. You may apply online or download the printable paper form and mail it to the Office of Admission. The application fee is $50 and can be paid with credit card for the online application, or by U.S. bank acceptable check, money order or bank draft if applying with a paper application.
- International Supplement to the School Report Form and official copies of your secondary school transcript(s) and/or leaving certificate(s). If these documents are not in English, please also include certified English translations.
- Official scores from the SAT or ACT. Results should be sent directly from the testing agency. Our SAT code is 5128 and our ACT code is 4345.
- Scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). If English is not your native language, and your secondary school instruction was not in English, you must submit a TOEFL score of 530 or above on the paper-based test, a score of 71 or above for the internet-based test, or a score of 197 or above on the computer-based test.
- A Financial Resources Statement. If you are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident please submit our Financial Resources Statement. In addition, please attach any official bank statements or affidavits to show that you can afford to study in the United States.
International Transfer - Admission Requirements
If you are an international student (not a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) applying as a transfer undergraduate student, please submit the following pieces of information to the Office of the Registrar March 1st for the fall semester, or October 1st for the spring semester.
- Completed online application and $50 non-refundable application fee.
- Official copies of your secondary school transcript(s) and/or leaving certificate(s). If these documents are not in English, please also include certified English translations.
- Official copies of translated transcript(s) from all colleges and/or universities attended. Transfer Admission does not accept electronic college transcripts. Please request that all official college transcripts be sent to the mailing address below (partial transcripts and/or grade reports are required until final grades are posted).

Newport News, VA 23606 - An official credential review of all college transcripts must be sent to an official credential evaluator (Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc., Josef Silny and Associates, Inc, World Education Services, Inc., Global Credential Evaluators etc.) Once the review is complete a copy of the review must to be sent directly from the credential evaluator to the Office of the Registrar.

- Transfer Admission does not require the following Common Application Offline Supplemental forms: College Officials Report, Instructor Evaluation, and Secondary Report. In some cases we do require the Mid-term report, but this will be determined once an application is reviewed.

International Graduate - Admission Requirements
- First, check the application dates and deadlines.
- Submit the Graduate Application for International Students.
- Submit official, translated academic transcripts from all secondary schools, colleges, and universities you’ve attended to World Education Services (WES) for a course-by-course review.
- Scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) to Graduate Admissions. (To be considered for admission, you must submit a minimum score of 92 for the Internet-based TOEFL, or an equivalent score of 237 on the computer-based TOEFL or an equivalent score of 580 on the paper-based TOEFL.
- A Financial Resources Statement to show that you can afford to study in the United States.
- Official bank affidavits verifying the availability of financial resources listed on the Financial Resources Statement.
- The International Student Data Collection form, which provides details about your visa, passport, and I-94.
