The few, but precious, years I have spent at Christopher Newport University have allowed me the opportunity to discover more about the world around me, but more importantly, myself. There is another sky, ever serene and fair. And there is another sunrise, though it be darkness there. I have made wonderful memories at CNU. I facilitated three greatgroups of freshmen, broke records with the field hockey team of 2012 and made some lifelong friends. However, not all times were smooth sailing. There were difficult practices, games, classes and other rough patches. However, I could count on my friends and family to sail alongside me. Now it’s anchors away, and it’s off to a new adventure.

Katie Magruder
Thanks to my wonderful family for their support and to my friends who have made CNU my home. I could not have asked for a better four years. “It’s a new dawn. It’s a new day. It’s a new life, for me. And I’m feeling good.”

CNU has provided many experiences, but the most memorable was the opportunity to join Greek life! Alpha Sigma Alpha truly has made me a woman of poise and purpose. To my sisters, you will forever be in my heart! Captain for Life!

“You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”— Eleanor Roosevelt. Now, it’s my turn to do the things I never thought I could. Thank you to my sisters of Alpha Phi, who never cease to help me do those things. Thank you to my professors who show me those things. And thank you to my mother, who is everything I hope to be in the future!

The past four years at CNU have been such a blessing! Thank you to my family who have always been supportive of all of my endeavors and have consistently been by my side! To my Alpha Phi sisters, you mean the world to me, and I’m going to be lost next year without y’all! To all of my friends, our friendship doesn’t end here, the journey just begun!

Kelly Williams
Thanks, Mom and Dad, for all the love, support and sacrifices you have made over the years for my education! I love you very much.

I owe it all to Dr. Duskin. Professor, mentor, ally, friend — and the best in every case. Thank you, Eric!

Shout out to my family, friends, Alpha Sigma Alpha and the cardinal that visits the tree nearby for all of the support. My time at CNU would not have been half as meaningful without you!
