Christopher Newport University is located in the heart of Newport News, Virginia. We're three hours south of Washington, D.C., 45 minutes from the Virginia Beach oceanfront, and 20 minutes east of historic Williamsburg.

If you’re flying to the area, you have several choices of airports. You can also get to Newport News by train or by bus. Parking is available throughout the campus. (view campus map)

From Richmond, Charlottesville, & Northern Virginia

  • Take I-64 East to Exit 258-A, J. Clyde Morris Boulevard South (Rt. 17).
  • Continue straight and turn right on Warwick Boulevard.
  • At the 3rd stop light, turn left on to University Place.
  • Take the first left in front of the Freeman Center, to continue on University Place.
  • Go right at the entrance to the Ferguson Center loop.
  • Visitor Parking (Lot B) is on the left.

  • Take U.S. 66 East to Rt. 17 South to Fredericksburg.
  • I-95 South to I-295 South to I-64 East.
  • I-64 East to Exit 258-A, J. Clyde Morris Boulevard South (Rt. 17).
  • Continue straight and turn right on Warwick Boulevard.
  • At the 3rd stop light, turn left on to University Place.
  • Take the first left in front of the Freeman Center, to continue on University Place.
