Faculty President Whiting called the meeting to order at 12:23PM
  1. Certification of graduates. List is available at Dec2007 Graduates
    Wheeler/Cones move to certify graduates.  vote in favor: unanimous.
  2. Provost Mark Padilla announced that the university has resolved to elevate the Luter School of Business to the Luter College of Decision Sciences effective Jan 1, 2008. The Luter College will administer 3 academic departments: Accounting, Economics and Finance; Management and Marketing; and Leadership and American Studies (LAMS). Thus, LAMS will move from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences to the Luter College. This academic department change is also effective January 1, 2008.  William Greer will remain assistant dean. Stephanie Bardwell will remain acting dean. This change is the culmination of a semester long project involving numerous faculty and staff.  CNU remains highly committed to our critical business programs which have earned AACSB accreditation. The job ad for a new dean of  Luter has been drafted through a highly deliberative task group. The search committee for the new dean will by chaired by Lisa Spiller. 
  3. Faculty President Whiting gave an update on faculty senate initiatives which include examining the faculty evaluation process, and implementing a faculty mentor program.  More activities and details are given here.
  4. Whiting, chair of the building committee, gave an update on the building initiatives. A summary of his comments and pictures of the planned buildings are here.

President Whiting adjourned the meeting at 12:47PM.
