Managed by the National Science Foundation's Division of Graduate Education, the GK-12 program provides funding to graduate students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Through their participation, fellows acquire additional skills to broadly prepare for successful careers.
Since its inception in 1999, the program has funded projects in more than 140 universities. We are excited to have Christopher Newport University participate in this program and are seeking graduate students and K-12 teachers to join us in CNU’s WISE project.
Through our WISE GK-12 Project, we will:
- Communicate science and research to various audiences and ages
- Stimulate interest in science among high school students and teachers
- Promote a national effort to advance scientific knowledge
