Academic areas of interest:
Dr. Pierce specializes in the social and religious history of Italy in the late Middle Ages. His scholarship has focused on the channels of transmission of religious ideas, on conversion, and on the influence of printing on religious belief. Dr. Pierce also teaches in CNU's M. A. T. program and has been active in international K-12 education. In the field of education, Dr. Pierce focuses on developing international and global perspectives in K-12 social studies and on fostering creativity through school environments and instructional strategies.
