The Mid-Atlantic Leadership Conference (MALC) is an annual gathering of regional leadership scholars, practitioners, and students to present and discuss their work.  The 2012 MALC, titled "Leadership in a Changing Society," was hosted at Christopher Newport University by CNU's Department of Leadership and American Studies and the Mid-Atlantic Leadership Review, CNU’s peer-reviewed leadership studies journal. The conference focused on the opportunities and challenges that individuals face as they practice leadership in the modern world.  Over fifty people from seven universities and research institutions attended twenty-eight paper presentations (click here to see a complete agenda of the day-long event). Featured speaker Col. Sharon Hamilton, director of the U.S. Army Human Terrain System, discussed her perspectives on leadership at the opening plenary session. Servant leadership scholar Dr. Kathleen Patterson of Regent University gave a keynote address on the vices and virtues of leadership.

Contact organizer Prof. Sean Heuvel to be placed on a mailing list.

Thank you to everyone who made the 2012 MALC a success!
