"My favorite memory of band camp is the spirit days that our section did. They just involved wearing simple colors but it just seemed to bring us all together. Seeing our entire section in the same color every day was awesome." ~ Alex Thompson '15, Mellophone

"Band camp is a wonderful opportunity to get to know people better and bond through the love and appreciation of music and performance." ~ Brandon Washington '13, Mellophone

"The strong sense of community within the band along with my fraternity brothers in Kappa Kappa Psi help get me through the tougher days of band camp. The student and faculty leadership is always there to encourage us to push through and keep striving to be the best ensemble we possibly can." ~ Amanda Davis '14, Clarinet

Remember, these are for part placement only. No one is cut from the band.

Percussion and Color Guard - your audition will be at your first rehearsal at 6 p.m. the day you move in. You do not need to prepare anything. The way you perform in the rehearsal will be your audition.

Winds - your audition will be at 3 p.m. on August 16th. You should prepare the Fight Song and your major scales. These do not need to be memorized at this point (although it would be helpful).

I realize that sousaphones, baritones, and mellophones will probably not be able to prepare. Just do the best that you can. You will be check out a horn when you check in for band camp, so if you would like to practice on the morning of your move-in day, you are more than welcome.

Band Camp Schedule- Special thanks to Emily Downer, Kelsey Freeman, Kappa Kappa Psi, Phi Mu Alpha, Nu Kappa Epsilon, and Sigma Alpha Iota for putting together some fun social events!

The band camp schedule is tentative, so it will change slightly when we are closer to band camp. The Welcome Week and PLP schedules are not out yet, but I will be able to give you a more accurate schedule once those schedules are ready.

If you have any questions, please contact Mr. John Lopez at john.lopez@cnu.
