White Named Distinguished Lecturer by Leading Historical Society
Organization of American Historians honors leadership and American studies professor Dr. Jonathan White.
Dr. Jonathan White, Associate Professor in the Department of Leadership and American Studies, has been appointed a distinguished lecturer by the Organization of American Historians (OAH). The lecturers are academics from leading colleges and universities across the U.S. They speak to audiences across the country each year and are widely sought for appearances at museums, libraries, universities, community centers, churches and synagogues, and other venues.
"It is a true honor to be in the company of so many eminent historians," White says.
The OAH is the largest professional society dedicated to the teaching and study of American history. The mission of the organization is to promote excellence in the scholarship, teaching, and presentation of American history, and to encourage wide discussion of historical questions and the equitable treatment of all practitioners of history.
White specializes in Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War. More information is available at his website. He is also on Twitter at @CivilWarJon.
