2012-13 Student Leadership Awards Announced

(Newport News, Va.) - Christopher Newport University's Office of Student Activities acknowledged the outstanding efforts and leadership achievements of CNU students, advisers and student organizations at a ceremony Monday, April 15, 2013, in the David Student Union Ballroom.

Dr. Kevin Hughes, Dean of Students, presented Student Leadership Awards in a host of categories, including diversity, community outreach, program development and athletics, among others. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the Dean’s Service Award to five seniors who have demonstrated exceptional service and leadership to the University during their time at CNU.

Female Student Athlete of the Year - Kelly Halverson, Women's Basketball
Male Student Athlete of the Year - Evan Moog, Football
President's Leadership Program, Servant Leadership Award - Kelly Willett
Order of Omega, Greek Man of the Year - Benjamin Roseberry - Alpha Phi Alpha
Order of Omega, Greek Woman of the Year - Sarah Ball - Phi Mu
Order of Omega, Greek Adviser of the Year - Anna Richter - Phi Mu, and Jenny Dean - Gamma Phi Beta
Campus Activities Board, "Drive for Excellence" - Katherine Barnhill
