CNU Economics and Finance Club Sponsors 2013 Stock Market Forecast Presentation

(Newport News, Va.) -

On Thursday, March 14, 2013, the CNU Economics and Finance Club will sponsor a 2013 stock market forecast presentation by Dr. Thomas Hall of the Luter School of Business. The presentation will take place at 5 p.m. in McMurran 101, and is free and open to the public. No reservation is required.

The forecast model is based on two approaches. The first relates to how economic troughs and subsequent recoveries might be subject to patterns that repeat. The second involves whether “mean reversion” drives stock market performance in conjunction with recovery in the overall economy.

Hall is an associate professor of finance and economics and has taught at CNU since 2006. His research relates to a wide range of economic and finance topics. He has conducted extensive corporate finance research and has numerous publications, including peer-reviewed journal articles in the Journal of Economic Issues, Journal of Software and the Tobin Review of Business.

A four-year public university in Newport News, Virginia, Christopher Newport University enrolls 5,000 students in rigorous academic programs in the liberal arts and sciences through the College of Arts and Humanities, the College of Natural and Behavioral Sciences, and the College of Social Sciences, including the Luter School of Business.
