To prepare incoming Captains for life away at college, we’ve designed a comprehensive, two-part orientation program.
Students attend Setting Sail in June, and begin the transition to campus life. You’ll bond with fellow Captains in a fun, hands-on experience that provides important information, including fall class schedules.
Parents play an active role during Setting Sail, attending informative sessions about campus life, financial aid and how to support their student academically.
In addition, students admitted to the President’s Leadership Program must attend the Summer Leadership Adventure Program (SLAP).

You’ll return to campus in August for Welcome Week, part two of orientation. You’ll move into your residence hall and spend the week before classes begin adjusting to campus life. Special programs, speakers and workshops highlight academics, while a wide range of activities build a sense of community among peers.
Welcome Week is August 20-27, 2017.
