Biography
Dr. Ayan Roy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, Computer Science, and Engineering at Christopher Newport University. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, India, before completing his PhD in Computer Science with a focus on cybersecurity in connected vehicles from Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla, USA.
Before joining CNU, Dr. Roy worked as a Software Engineer at a startup from May 2022 to July 2023. He then served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (Jefferson Lab), where he contributed to an LDRD project supported by the US Department of Energy.
Dr. Roy's research interests lie in analyzing privacy and security threats in connected vehicle systems and social media. He has published extensively in high-quality peer-reviewed conferences and has several ongoing research projects. Additionally, Dr. Roy serves as a reviewer for numerous reputable conferences and journals and is a guest editor for the special issue "Enabling Resilient Operations of Unoccupied Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Swarms" with Frontier Publishers.
