Research
Dr. Cartwright is interested in social and economic history, particularly of the High Middle Ages. She researches gender, power and family groups in tenth and eleventh century Normandy. Her current research focuses on the status of the wives, mothers and daughters of the Norman dukes from 996-1066.
Biography
Dr. Charlotte Cartwright is a lecturer in the Department of History at Christopher Newport University. She holds a PhD from the University of Liverpool (United Kingdom).
