Teaching
My main teaching interests are in cryptography, error correcting codes, and abstract algebra. Regardless, I am happy to teach anywhere across the math curriculum.
Research
My research interests lie in infinite dimensional non-associative algebra, specifically Lie algebras of deep matrix and C* algebras.
Biography
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Dr. Kennedy completed his bachelor's degree at UC Berkeley in 1997, and then his doctorate at the University of Michigan in 2004. He worked for two years at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania before coming to Christopher Newport University in 2006. He has served as the chair of the department since 2013.
