Teaching
My areas of teaching interest are in international relations, foreign and public policy, terrorism and research methods.
Research
My research is primarily focused on understanding the process by which domestic and international institutions increase a state's vulnerability to international terrorism. This includes examining the role of international organizations (NATO), democratization, and the media in terrorist targeting.
Biography
I earned a Ph.D. and Master's degree in Political Science at Purdue University in 2013 and 2009, and a Bachelor's degree in Government from Christopher Newport University in 2005. Prior to joining the CNU faculty, I served as a Faculty Research Assistant at the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) at the University of Maryland, where I supervised the weapons and tactics domain of the Global Terrorism Database (GTD). In addition, I taught courses in international relations, public policy and international security at Purdue and George Washington University.
