Mr. Lloyd received is MFA in Acting from Western Illinois University, Macomb, IL, and his BA in Communications/Theater from North Central College, Naperville, IL. He is also a Certified Teacher of Stage Combat with the Society of American Fight Directors and holds black belts in Hapkido and TangSooDo. He is a professional Fight Director and Actor, having worked around the country as an actor in regional venues and as a fight performer at amusement parks and Medieval Times. In addition to being an educator and director for CNU, he is also the Resident Fight Director for the Virginia Stage Company and the Virginia Opera. He has received the Kennedy Center-American College Theater Festival’s Meritorious Achievement Award for Excellence in Directing for Brighton Beach Memoirs (2011) and When You Comin’ Back, Red Ryder (2013). Recent professional acting credits include King Arthur in Spamalot, Mark Rothko in Red, McKean in 1776, Mushnik in Little Shop of Horrors, the Governor in Man of La Mancha, Owen in The Foreigner, and Capulet in Romeo and Juliet. Recent Fight Direction credits include Pagliacci, The Great Gatsby, Romeo and Juliet, Fences, I Hate Hamlet, Lucia de Lammermoor, Il Trovatore, and Don Giovani. For Theater CNU, Gregg has directed Noises Off, Once Upon a Mattress, When You Comin’ Back Red Ryder, Brighton Beach Memoirs, I Hate Hamlet, HMS Pinafore, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, The Adding Machine, and Be Aggressive. Gregg lives in Newport News with his wonderful wife and two fantastic children.
