Biography
Gyan Pradhan is Chair of the Department of Economics at Christopher Newport University. He served as department chair at Eastern Kentucky University, and as department chair and division chair at Westminster College where he was the first to be appointed to two endowed chair positions—the Simon Chair and Buckner Chair—and was presented the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. He has held faculty appointments at American University, Berea College, University of Mary Washington, University of New Hampshire, Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, and Washington University in St. Louis. His teaching and research interests include economics of emerging markets and developing economies, international economics, macroeconomics, and public finance. He has served as a Fulbright Senior Specialist and a consultant to the World Bank.
