Biography
Dr. Chen received his Ph.D. (applied mathematics) from North Carolina State University in 1991, then joined the faculty at Christopher Newport University, where he is a professor of mathematics. He has published over sixty papers on partial differential equations and classical analysis. He has also written several acclaimed mathematics books, including "Excursions in Classical Analysis" (Mathematical Association of America (MAA Press), 2010), "Monthly Problem Gems" and "Classical Analysis -- An Approach through Problems" (2021, 2022, CRC Press). He is an associate editor of the MAA Problem Books Series and an editorial board member of "Problems and Solutions" of the American Mathematical Monthly.
