Pedagogy, service learning, and Sephardic literature and culture. Also enjoy teaching the 100 level classes and serving in the coordinator role.


Research in Sephardic Studies, service learning as they relate to Spanish and the culture.


Raised in Norfolk, Va. Graduated from UVA with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Art History. Graduated with a Master's degree from NYU in Madrid in 1990 in Spanish language and culture. Studied with UVA at University of Valencia for a semester in 1988 and lived with a host family. Lived in Spain and worked for an international firm during graduate school. Worked at ODU for 7 years, 2 as full time lecturer, five years full time lecturer at William and Mary, and 10 at CNU as an instructor. At William and Mary was the 101-102 language coordinator along with hiring and teaching the Teaching Assistants. At CNU duties have involved service learning along with writing a new course to accompany this service called Spanish in the Community. Have led two CNU study abroad seminars in Spain in 2009 and 2012. Serve as a Core Adviser for freshmen and sophomores since 2010.
