Biography
After graduating with a B.S. in 1998, I spent several years as a SCUBA instructor, an endoscopy technician, a support group facilitator (and many others things) before pursuing a career in academia.
In 2005, after 5 years of graduate school, where I served as a research assistant, a teaching assistant and a lab coordinator for NSF and NIH granted projects, I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a PhD in Experimental Psychology.
Following graduation, I accepted a position as Assistant Professor at Tarleton State University and remained there until 2011. Following my time at Tarleton, I was an Associate Professor and the Program Chair for the Psychology Department at Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, VA. In August of 2013, I started my transition to administration by taking the added role of Director of Institutional Effectiveness. I left Virginia Intermont college in 2014 and joined the University of San Francisco as the Director of Assessment for the School of Management.
On February 1, 2015, I accepted a position as the Director of Assessment and Evaluation in the Office of Assessment at Christopher Newport University. As of December 10, 2021, I serve CNU as the Associate Provost for Assessment and Accreditation and as the SACSCOC Liaison.
