Biography
Dr. Martin earned his PhD in Applied Mathematics and Masters degree in Engineering from Brown University in Providence, RI. He is a three time American Society for Engineering Education faculty fellow. His experience includes Principle Investigator of NASA and SDSC research grants, visiting professor at UCSB, postdoc at USC and visiting scientist for eight years at the Institute for Computer Applications in Science and Engineering, NASA Langley Research Center. Dr. Martin is the author of over 30 refereed journal/book publications. His recent work on non-Boussinesq gravity currents is now cited in gravity current textbooks. A picture from Dr. Martin's simulation of airframe flow serves as the cover photo of NASA Conference Publication 3300. He has taught mathematics at Christopher Newport University for over 25 years.
