Biography
Dr. Gardner joined the faculty of Christopher Newport University in 2018. Before joining CNU, he held postdoctoral teaching fellowships at the University of Notre Dame and Valparaiso University. Dr. Gardner specializes in Catholic Studies, and his research interests include systematic theology, philosophy of religion, and Catholic dialogue with atheists, agnostics, and the non-religious. He is especially interested in how Catholics understand the nature of faith, credibility, and doubt; as well as how Continental philosophy offers Christians new ways of thinking through traditional questions about God.
