Structure of English, Introduction to Linguistics, Freshman Writing Seminar, Teaching Writing in Developing Nations


Following six months as a TELF Fulbright to Tajikistan (2016), with teacher workshops in Nepal, Wheeler has turned her research interests toward teaching writing in developing nations. This complements 20 years of research and publication in teaching Standard English in urban classrooms.


Fulbright Scholar to Tajikistan (2016), applied linguist, specialist in teaching Standard English in African American classrooms, Wheeler has qualified as an English Language Specialist with the U. S. Department of Education. She is working to develop teacher training in the teaching of writing in developing nations.
