I teach interdisciplinary courses that focus on: writing and digital literacy, ethics and literature, the history of rhetorical/critical theory, psychology of memory, and cyborgs/"posthumanism." I am also deeply engaged in bringing new media technologies into the classroom (and the streets)!

My research takes place at the intersections of rhetorical theory, digital media (activism), and continental philosophy. My most recent publications focus on attitudes towards technology in the classroom, and on experimental teaching methods that challenge print-based norms and practices.

Originally from small-town Kansas, I moved across the country to pursue my graduate degrees and explore the USA. I currently live in Newport News with my corgi, Ariadne. I enjoy yoga, science fiction/fantasy games, vegetarian/vegan cooking, playing electric guitar-bass-drums-keys, music production, abstract painting, fashion, and exploring the outdoors.
