I enjoy teaching heavily interdisciplinary courses that focus on writing, rhetoric, memory, digital media, theory, ethics, and literature. I am also highly engaged in attempts to bring new media technologies into the classroom.

My research takes place at the intersections of rhetorical theory and continental philosophy. I am particularly interested how these approaches illuminate questions related to memory, social movements, digital media, and pedagogy.

Originally from a small town in Kansas, I moved across the country to pursue my graduate degrees and explore the US. I currently live in Newport News with my corgi, Ariadne. I enjoy competitive long-distance running, science fiction/fantasy card games, vegetarian/vegan cooking, playing acoustic and electric guitar, painting, and exploring the outdoors.
