Biography
William Mims took senior status as a Justice on the Supreme Court of Virginia in 2022 and came to CNU. He is the director of the Pre-Law program and also teaches courses about the U.S. Constitution and American Law. He is a former Attorney General of Virginia and member of the General Assembly. He is only the second Virginian in history to serve in Virginia's top three legal positions – helping to make the law, enforce the law and interpret the law. He previously has taught as an adjunct professor at two Virginia law schools. He is deeply committed to teaching and mentoring undergraduates who may want to become legal professionals. Justice Mims graduated from the College of William & Mary and has law degrees from George Washington University (J.D.) and Georgetown University (LL.M.).
