Whether you're a new student or current student please remember to check your registration dates. It is also important to login to CNU Connect and check on ‘CNULive’ to ensure that you do not have HOLDS which will prevent registration. Remember to resolve these holds prior to registration. Don’t forget to schedule your advising appointments.

Please note: if you recently paid online for a Business Office financial obligation or fine, it is the practice of the Business Office to release registration/graduation holds within 24 hours of payment. If it has been 24 hours since you made payment or if you have an urgent situation, please contact Student Accounts at 757-594-7195, or visit them on the second floor of the Administration Building.

Full (Closed) Sections/Courses:  Please note that decisions to allow students to register for a course that is full (closed) are made thoughtfully and are based on extenuating circumstances.  Should a student be eligible for such an override, the student must have written approval from the Department Chair with the Chair's signature on a Registration Override/Schedule Change’ form. In some rare cases, authorization from the academic dean of the college may also be required.

Prerequisites, Co-requisites or Other Registration Restrictions:  In extenuating circumstances, the instructor of record may approve an override into a course for prerequisites, co-requisites, or other registration restrictions. Please note that if you receive approval for one of these restrictions for a course that is full (closed), you will also need the approval of the Department Chair. In some rare cases, authorization from the academic dean of the college may also be required.
