Resident Assistants

CNU's RAs are some of the most effective and highly awarded in the Commonwealth of Virginia and regularly represent CNU at state-wide conferences.

CNU RAs represent the best of both student leadership and servant-leadership and represent virtually all student organizations and demographic backgrounds found among the residential body.

The recruitment process for 2013-14 Resident Assistants has ended.  Please check back in September for recruitment information for 2014-15 staff!

Front Desk Assistants

Applications for Front Desk Assistant for the 2013-14 Academic Year are now available!

The Front Desk Assistant (FDA) works in a residence hall or area office setting under the direct supervision of a Hall Director and/or Area Coordinator. The role of the FDA is to provide excellent customer service and ensure safety and security for students living in the residence halls. The Front Desk Assistant Coordinator (FDAC) works in a residence hall or area office setting under the direct supervision of a Hall Director and/or Area Coordinator.  The role of the FDAC is to fulfill all job duties and responsibilities of the Front Desk Assistant with addition responsibilities of leadership and organization for the team of FDA’s employed in that area. Summer Resident Assistants

The Summer Resident Assistant(s) will work on either East Campus or the Main Campus Residence Hall designated for Summer School under the direct supervision of the East Campus Area Coordinator.  The role of the Summer RA is to facilitate an environment within the CNU community that promotes the educational experience of residential living.  The SRA must provide excellent service to summer residents, ensure accuracy in administrative duties, and creativity in programming and community building.  Summer Resident Assistants will work closely with the Summer Office Coordinators.

Summer Office Coordinators

The Summer Office Coordinator(s) will work in the East Campus Area Office under the direct supervision of the East Campus Area Coordinator. The role of the Summer Office Coordinator is to provide excellent customer service, ensure good record keeping in regards to paperwork for the area (RCFs, white cards, key lock outs, Clery Acts, programming fees, etc.), and creativity when looking to change existing policies/procedures to help make East Campus run smoother.  Summer Office Coordinators will work closely with the Summer Resident Assistants.

Summer Front Desk Assistants

The Summer Front Desk Assistant(s) will work at the Front Desks of the Summer School Residence Hall and/or the Office of Residence Life under the direct supervision of the East Campus Area Coordinator.  The role of the Summer Front Desk Assistant is to provide excellent customer service, ensure safety and security for students living in the residence hall, and practice good record keeping in regards to paperwork and procedures.  Summer Front Desk Assistants will work closely with the Summer Resident Assistants and Residence Life Office Administrators.

Residence Hall Association

CNU's Residence Hall Association serves the interests of residential students by providing purposeful events and activities as well as responding to residentially based concerns and initiative requests. Each residential student is automatically a part of RHA and is welcome to attend any General Meetings and RHA events.

Hall / Area Council

Each housing area has a Hall / Area Council comprised of members of that housing area, with an executive board being voted upon at the beginning of each academic year. Hall / Area Councils serve their residential community by providing purposeful events and activities as well as representing the concerns and initiative requests of their housing area to the Residence Hall Association.
