ROTC Cadet Makes First Start for Homecoming
Sophomore Cadet Christian Woelfel-Monsivais made his first collegiate start at Quarterback during CNU's 27-21 victor over Ferrum College during Homecoming Weekend. Cadet Woelfel-Monsivais completed 10 of 14 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown in front of 3,517 fans at Pomoco Stadium. Cadet Woelfel-Monsivais also ran the ball 10 times for 48 yards. Cadet Woelfel-Monsivais' longest pass was a 52 yard touchdown pass to Senior Wide Receiver T.J. Foster. “I went to Coach Kelchner and he told me we were running this play and I was surprised, so when I got to the huddle I told my linemen if we scored I owed them all pizza, I will be glad to pay up,” said Cadet Woelfel-Monsivais about his long pass to Foster.
With this victory, CNU improved to 4-4 for the season and 4-1 in the conference.
