Applications available now for the 2014 Women in Leadership Cohort
The Women in Leadership Program is a six-week program that explores the role feminity plays on a leader's ability to relate, communicate, mediate and lead.  Special attention will be given to socially constructed ideas of womanhood and how they affect how women interact and engage with others.
The program will approach concepts from a current events perspective, using real life examples and events in the news to illustrate key challenges, expectations and assumptions faced by female leaders.
Topics may include:
  • Prioritizing career, family and a social life: Balancing it all
  • Managing power: Getting it, having it and making it happen
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Say what you mean and mean what you say: Communicating with confidence
Program components:
  • Weekly conversations on current topics affecting women leaders
  • Cohort model with peers from across campus
  • Real-life examples and tips for implementation
