After Graduation
By completing the recommended accounting courses you’ll be prepared and eligible to take the CPA exam. Christopher Newport accounting graduates are heavily recruited and represented in all areas of the field: public accounting (including the Big Four, regional and local CPA firms), corporate and government accounting, cost accounting, tax accounting, and internal auditing.
Graduate schools also actively recruit our students. In recent years, accounting majors have been accepted to business and accounting graduate programs at top schools across the nation.
A finance degree offers great flexibility in both employment and graduate programs. Many employers seek out our graduates because finance majors have intensive quantitative training and real-world business skills. Graduates go on to careers in banking, investing, financial planning and corporate finance as well as financial management for small businesses, nonprofit organizations and charities.
As a management major, you’ll be prepared for the challenges of our changing global society. Management graduates are well-qualified for a wide variety of careers in human resources, consulting, operations, supply-chain management, purchasing, logistics and contract management, to name a few.
Marketing careers combine creativity and managerial decision-making with the power of technology. We’re one of the few undergraduate institutions nationwide that offers a major focusing on direct and interactive marketing. You’ll learn to develop and use customer research, databases, direct mail, the Internet, print advertising and package designs to deliver measurable results.
Graduates of our marketing program are well-prepared for graduate school and careers in advertising, promotion, customer relationship management, data analytics, public relations, market research, sports marketing, nonprofit fundraising, political marketing and sales.
