As an art major, you’ll have access to the incomparable facilities of the Mary M. Torggler Fine Arts Center in which to explore your creative vision in the following studios and labs:

  • Ceramics studio
  • Digital arts lab
  • Metal casting studio
  • Painting/drawing studio
  • Photography studios

Each year several major exhibitions are held in the Mary M. Torggler Fine Arts Center, including national exhibitions as well as ArtCNU exhibitions. ArtCNU exhibitions are located on the second floor in the Student Academic Gallery, Micro Gallery, North Hall and East Hall. These include works of our faculty and alumni, as well as our senior thesis exhibition. Photography students have numerous exhibition and learning opportunities, including our annual campus-wide photography show, which includes cash awards.

Travel and study abroad is integral to the understanding of the visual arts' cultural and historical significance. Our study abroad courses encourage you to see and create art around the world. Past trips have included Italy, England and the Czech Republic.

Students also find gainful employment in a host of rewarding internships at nearby galleries, museums and organizations, including graphic design, photography, research, video production, gallery preparation, and many more.

Students have the opportunity to join the honorary art fraternity, Kappa Pi, which sponsors and participates in many art-related activities and community projects.
