New Students

We encourage freshman applicants to apply for scholarships electronically through SlideRoom. You will be prompted within your Common Application to submit a portfolio through SlideRoom after indicating your intention to study studio art or art history. There is an extra $10 SlideRoom portfolio submission fee, in addition to the general $65 application fee.

Please submit up to 10 images of your artwork that represent both your skill and concept development. Portfolio reviews are available in person on 3/19 and 4/2 between 12-1 pm. Please email to arrange a time slot. In addition, reviews will be held electronically on the following dates:

  • March 19, 2022
  • April 2, 2022

Portfolio Review

In addition to artwork, art history applicants may forward original research for scholarship consideration. You can forward a Word file or PDF to the department chair, Dr. Michelle Erhardt, at

Current Students

We solicit scholarship applications in the spring of each academic year. You must submit a talent portfolio / writing sample electronically. Email for more information.

The studio art portfolio must consist of 10–15 of your best artworks, showing both skill and concept development. Art historians must submit a writing sample of 10–12 pages in length, along with a resume.
