If you're an educator, you won’t want to miss three hands-on, multi-day workshops designed just for you. Offered by Christopher Newport University’s Center for American Studies, each workshop will share innovative ways to incorporate history into your pedagogy as you help students embrace their role as 21st-century citizens.

Jamestowne to the 21st Century will examine how “We the People” has shaped and crafted our legislative institutions into the system we know today.

And with the help of historians, scholars and other educators, African American History will help you shape your classroom lessons and curriculum regarding the role of African Americans and race in colonial America.

Hampton Roads in the Civil War will critically examine secession, the African American quest for freedom, and the pivotal role of Hampton Roads in the conflict.

Join us on CNU’s campus for one or all of these professional development opportunities. We look forward to meeting you.
