- Homecoming Store Tabling, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., DSU Breezeway Pick up or purchase your 2024 Homecoming merch!
- Alumni Faculty & Staff Toast Reception, 4-5 p.m. This invitation-only event celebrates the impact of our Captains for Life who serve their alma mater each and every day as members of the Christopher Newport faculty and staff community. Please note this event is invitation-only.
- Alumni Society Board of Directors Meeting, 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. This invitation-only meeting of your Alumni Society Board of Directors takes place each year at your Alumni House during Homecoming Week to discuss the important projects and goals in support of the Captain for Life community of the Christopher Newport Alumni Society Board of Directors. While these meetings are closed to members only, if you are interested in learning more about the ASB, please contact alumni@cnu.edu for more information.
- Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Dinner, 6-8 p.m. This annual celebration and honorary event is now being hosted during Homecoming for the very first time, as we welcome all Captains for Life home, including our esteemed Hall of Fame athletes. Please note this event is invitation-only.

New Flag Pole Dedication The ceremony will honor and celebrate the installation and donation of a new flagpole and American flag. The event will include the symbolic raising of the flag for the first time, with recognition and appreciation extended to the donors, Ann Hunnicutt, and Dan and Patricia Mooza. After the rehearsal, we will have a picnic dinner on the lawn at 7:00 p.m. to get to know current students and celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Marching Captains! Shoe Lane Lights Join the Office of Alumni Engagement and your fellow Captains for Life under the lights for this official celebration and kick-off to Homecoming, at this year’s FREE family-friendly event. Enjoy local food trucks, a cash bar, lawn games, live music from alumni band The Midnight Bluesmen, and more! Food, beer, wine, signature cocktails and merch will be available for purchase. Registration is strongly encouraged for this event to ensure a faster check in experience, though walk up’s will also be welcome. |

Saint-Saens Organ Symphony As part of the local Lafayette 200th celebration and anniversary of Major General Marquis de Lafayette’s return to the United States, Music Director Laureate JoAnn Falletta leads the Virginia Symphony Orchestra & Chorus in a tribute to French musical excellence with Saint-Saëns’ grand romantic symphony featuring the “king of instruments,” the organ. Join us in Alumni Alley to celebrate with fellow Captains, get free Homecoming swag, and watch the Marching Captains make their way to the stadium CNU Captains kickoff against Rowan University at 1 p.m. Reserved Bleacher, General Admission tickets, and Tailgate Passes are on sale now and can be purchased online or by calling the CNU Athletic Ticket Office at (757) 594-7880. The prices are as follows:
- Reserved Bleacher Seating: $15; $20 day-of
- General Admission Seating: $10
- Student Seating: Free with Student ID
*Chairback Seating: $25; $35 day-of
*Chairback seats for Homecoming Weekend will go on sale on Thursday, October 3 and can only be purchased by calling the CNU Athletic Ticket Office at (757) 594-7880. Please note that the ticket office is open Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
