Academics
It’s that time of the year again … midterms. I can’t believe how quickly the semester is flying by. It feels like just the other day when I was moving into my apartment on campus. That’s how college goes though, the quickest four years of your life!
This week, I’ve started receiving some midterm reviews. It pains my heart, but I suppose it was inevitable. Thankfully, I’m not going through it alone. Everyone else on campus has midterms coming soon, too! I’m also thankful for the new library expansion, which has almost doubled the size of the building from last year. That means there’ll be plenty of space to find a study room to buckle down for the night and cram.
I’ve been getting in contact with my peers in my classes to sort out study groups. In college, since there is usually very few assignments in each class, the midterm is a HUGE chunk of your grade. So, I’m working very diligently to ensure that I can ace every exam. Christopher Newport is a very social community, but we’re also very academically minded. No matter what, there’s always plenty of spaces to go study at (whether it’s 4 p.m. or 4 a.m.)
Midterms are certainly daunting, but thanks to the emphasis on academics that Christopher Newport ensures its students are taking – I’m not too worried. I know my peers and I will study hard and we’ll get through midterms week, just as we do every semester!
