CNU Named a Top 5 Medium-Sized Public College in the South

Read time:

Christopher Newport was named as one of the top five medium-sized public colleges in the South in Forbes Magazine’s 2016 list of America’s Top Colleges.

“The reach and reputation of Christopher Newport continues to spread as more and more people recognize and appreciate the rigor of our academic programs, the quality of our faculty and facilities, and the intellectual firepower of our students,” said President Paul Trible.

Forbes ranks colleges based on a calculation that determines each university’s return on investment by looking at the satisfaction of current graduates, current graduation rates, student debt levels and job placement rates. Out of 660 Top Colleges determined to be “well worth the investment,” Christopher Newport ranked No. 360 in 2016, up from 375 in 2015.

Christopher Newport has moved up in the rankings year after year, making a CNU degree one of the best investments in Virginia and in America.

This recognition comes on the heels of being designated by Kiplinger’s as one of the Top 100 Best Public Colleges and one of the Top 300 Best College Values of 2016.
