University Unveils New Website

Fresh look and responsive design are hallmarks of new site.

Read time:

On December 30 we launched a new design for the university website (, the first such effort in seven years.

The main objectives of the project were focused on aesthetics and the separation of content based on the intended audience. Content pertinent only to current students, faculty and staff, was relocated to an internal site, making the new a more streamlined and efficient tool for discovering the programs and opportunities that make Christopher Newport a pre-eminent liberal arts and sciences university in America.

The new website also employs a more standardized navigation, and a responsive design that works well on any mobile device or desktop computer.

The re-design was completed by staff in the Office of Communications and Public Relations, with special thanks to the faculty, staff and students who assisted with the project.

We value your feedback as we continue to refine the website and enhance the user experience. Please email any questions, comments or concerns to or fill out the Report a Problem form available in the footer on every page.
