20th Annual Gardening Symposium

Christopher Newport’s Lifelong Learning Society will present its annual Gardening Symposium on Saturday, April 22, in the Freeman Center.

Christopher Newport’s Lifelong Learning Society (LLS) will present the 20th Annual Gardening Symposium on Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., in the Freeman Center. This year’s symposium will include plant sales, door prizes and a variety of informative workshops presented by authors, farmers, expert gardeners and designers.

Guest speakers will include:

  • Cole Burrell, acclaimed lecturer, garden designer, award-winning author and photographer
  • Lisa Ziegler, a cut-flower farmer, author and nationally recognized speaker on organic gardening
  • Randee Humphrey, director of education at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond
  • Marie Butler, a Chesapeake master gardener emeritus and former landscape coordinator at the Virginia Zoo
