Christopher Newport’s Lifelong Learning Society (LLS) will present the 20th Annual Gardening Symposium on Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., in the Freeman Center. This year’s symposium will include plant sales, door prizes and a variety of informative workshops presented by authors, farmers, expert gardeners and designers.
Guest speakers will include:
- Cole Burrell, acclaimed lecturer, garden designer, award-winning author and photographer
- Lisa Ziegler, a cut-flower farmer, author and nationally recognized speaker on organic gardening
- Randee Humphrey, director of education at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond
- Marie Butler, a Chesapeake master gardener emeritus and former landscape coordinator at the Virginia Zoo
