Christopher Newport University’s Board of Visitors will set the 2025-26 tuition and fee schedule for all in-state and out-of-state undergraduate and graduate students at their April 24-25, 2025 meeting.
As required by Code of Virginia Section 23.1-307(D), the Board of Visitors hereby provides notice that it will consider increasing tuition and mandatory fees between zero and 4.2%, as presented in the university’s Six Year Plan. The revenue generated by tuition and fees will be used to fund the university’s share of state-mandated compensation and fringe benefit increases, new facilities coming online, support student financial aid and increased cost escalations in contractual services, as well as cost escalations in other non-personnel services. The exact use and amount of tuition revenue necessary will be contingent upon final budget actions of the Governor and 2025 General Assembly legislative session.
A public comment session was offered on March 17 at 3:00 p.m. in the Freeman Center Room 202. Materials from this session can be found on BoardDocs.
