Transfer Orientation

Changing Tides is an orientation program designed to help new students connect with other students, learn more about academic and campus life, and explore campus resources.

The program is required for all new students and will be held August 19-20, 2021. Please plan to be available between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on both days. Check your CNU email for more information.

Registration will be available starting July 15 for students beginning in the fall semester and November 15 for those beginning in the spring semester.

You can register guests and family members for virtual content leading up to Changing Tides by listing them on the registration form. Be sure to include their email address(es) as well. Guests will receive access to newsletters, email communication and the virtual orientation site. We expect to have more information regarding the possibility of guests attending Changing Tides on July 15.

For students, check-in will begin around 8 a.m. and the program will last until approximately 5 p.m. on the first day and 2 p.m. on the second day.

Yes. However, there are limited spaces available in the residence halls and housing is not guaranteed. If you are interested in living on campus please contact University Housing at (757) 594-7754. You will work with them directly to sign your housing contract and pay your $250 housing deposit.

Residential students should plan to move in on Wednesday, August 18. Housing and Residence Life staff will send you more information about the move-in process.
