Biography
Laura Deiulio received her MA and PhD in Germanic Languages and Literatures from Princeton University. At Christopher Newport University, she teaches all levels of German classes as well as courses on literature in translation. Her research focuses on German Romanticism and women writers. Recent publications examine Rahel Levin Varnhagen’s correspondences with Auguste Brede and Pauline Wiesel. She has also published articles or book chapters on Esther Gad and Lou Andreas-Salomé. Currently, she is working on a book-length study of Rahel Levin Varnhagen’s thought and is co-editing a volume of essays on intellectual collaborations from the time period 1750-1850.
