The Department of Psychology is dedicated to excellence in teaching, scholarship and service in the behavioral sciences.

As professors, we are committed to providing students with knowledge in the various fields of psychology; the ability to engage in disciplined and systematic inquiry; and the skills to think, act and communicate rationally, critically, creatively and ethically.

As scholars, we are engaged in innovative and substantive research, contributing to our understanding of behavior and mental processes on a rigorous, scientific level.

As mentors, we include students in all levels of the research process, from research design to publishing and presenting results at international conferences. We aim to prepare students to be leaders in their communities, living thoughtful lives of consequence and significance.
