About the Symposium
Christopher Newport University’s Center for American Studies presents the ninth annual Homeland Security Symposium & Expo: Tech Innovation and Homeland Security, at Christopher Newport University, on February 13, 2020.
This program provides high visibility to a key executive audience. The program includes high-level speakers from government and industry to discuss the latest advancements, insights and issues in homeland, maritime, and port security.
Attendees include representatives from private industry, government agencies, and academia from throughout Virginia. All proceeds support CNU’s Center for American Studies.

Location
Unless otherwise noted, all events will take place in Gaines Theatre in the Freeman Center.
If you’re flying to the area, you have several choices of airports. You can also get to Newport News by train or by bus. Parking is available throughout the campus.
Conference attendees are encouraged to park in the Parking Deck (building 24 on the campus map) and Lot A, both of which are adjacent to the Ferguson Center.
As you enter campus from J. Clyde Morris / Avenue of the Arts, the road will curve to the right and you will see the parking garage on your right. You may park anywhere in the garage.
Several hotels surround CNU’s campus in Newport News. We recommend the Marriott City Center Hotel in Newport News.
