His current projects work to answer questions like: (1) how do we perceive and evaluate group members with intersecting marginalized identities (e.g., gay Black men); (2) what is the relationship between national identity, perceived threat, and immigration policy, and (3) why do persons from different social groups define allyship differently and how does this difference impact collective action within political movements? Dr. Preddie is committed to helping students deepen their understanding of the connections between Psychology and other humanistic disciplines e.g. law, media, politics, gender/ethnic studies and building interdisciplinary collaborations with students and faculty across the university.
