Requirements for New Students
Physical examinations
Physicals are not required for all students. If you are a student-athlete, please contact your trainer, coach or the Department of Athletics for requirements.
Immunizations
Virginia law requires that all first-time, full-time undergraduate and graduate students provide documentation of the required immunizations against communicable diseases, including meningitis. This documentation must be signed by a licensed health professional or health facility and sent or delivered to the Office of the Registrar. You will not be able to participate in early registration until your immunization record is received.
If you need information or records released to Christopher Newport prior to your enrollment, please complete the consent to release medical information to University Health & Wellness form.
Please note that if you enroll at Christopher Newport before you turn 18, you must submit a new patient health history form and a patient statement of understanding and financial agreement form, signed by a parent or guardian, in order to receive nonemergency care in the clinic.
